Environmental StewardshipTake Environmental Stewardship Seriously: We should be stewards of our state resources, but our natural resources have degraded substantially. The Chesapeake Bay could support hundreds of jobs and bring in millions of dollars in revenue from improved oyster, crab, and other fisheries, and it is a great place for aquaculture if water quality was improved and dead zones eliminated. Current state agencies want to work together better but have been hampered by politics. We need to support our environment and help our state agencies. Let’s Get Moving on Wind and Solar: It is well recognized that wind energy is a great potential resource, but there is no central organization to manage the development of alternative energy sources. We should look at creating a new utility company charged with contracting and building wind and solar facilities. |
